PORTFOLIORecent ProjectsWilfrid's work has been described as moody, visceral, emotional, and often stoic. Bright colors are twisted and perverted into something dark. Layers of pure acrylic and washes combine to create works where the bright colors lay at the heart, constrated by a heavy emphasis on lighting. While Wilfrid's work is realistic, he intentionally avoids creating photorealistic images, so that the viewer can connect with a new world, familiar but alien to the one in which they live. The paintings are paintings, and they must be obviously so.
